Rohit Kumar Puri is an experienced trekking guide with more than 10 years of experience in Nepal’s trekking and tourism industry. He started his journey in 2015 as a porter, where he gained valuable first-hand experience of the Himalayan trails, local communities, weather, and challenges of trekking at different altitudes.
After three years of experience as a porter, Rohit became a professional trekking guide and obtained his government-recognised trekking guide licence. Since then, he has guided trekkers through different parts of Nepal and developed strong knowledge of the country's mountains, culture, nature, and trekking routes.
As part of his professional guide training, organized by the Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN), Rohit received training in Nepal's history, wildlife, plants, high-altitude safety, and first aid. His training included sessions conducted by experienced medical professionals with more than 30 years of experience, as well as other highly experienced professors and tourism professionals.
With his background as both a porter and a licensed guide, Rohit understands the trekking experience from the ground up. He focuses on safety, good communication, responsible trekking, and making every trekker feel comfortable and supported throughout the journey.
With more than a decade of experience in the Himalayas, Rohit combines practical mountain knowledge, professional training, and a friendly approach to provide trekkers with a safe and memorable experience in Nepal.
